Hey girlfran'! You may have wondered what to talk about on Facebook live for a small business. Here are a couple quick tips to make your Facebook lives rock and help you connect with your audience. They're the best way to increase Facebook followers and likes.
1) Be YOU. Don't imitate someone else or try to be something you're not. There are billions of people in the world and we are all unique. If people like you, you will eventually have a steady audience of people. Don't try to be perfect. The protagonist Elle Woods in the movie Legally Blonde was but that's who she really was, pink head-to-toe outfits, coiffed hair, and all. So she was true to herself. But whatever your jam is, own it. Maybe you're not perfect (like the rest of us) and make mistakes on your videos. That's actually totally fine. You know why? Most people can't relate to perfection so you'll attract people who can't.
2) Be vulnerable. Most people are private and they have a hard time opening up. If that's you, I hate to break it to you (so please don't cry into a big bowl of caramel swirl vanilla ice cream) but live videos aren't for you. In real life, we have our guard up and we're programmed by society not to trust people, so it might seem intimidating to share a lot and even just to set your live videos to public to begin with. But you have got to put yourself out there, buttercup. You can talk about anything...even heavy topics like sexual abuse or grief. When you're open and vulnerable with your audience, they will be open right back with you. That, in turn, will open the floodgates of a relationship. But the best reason to do it? It helps other people when they see others have problems too, and that they're not alone. You can legit help them with your testimony. How amazing is that?
The final point I want you to remember is that not everyone will love you, but in that case, they will move on to someone else's videos they can relate to more. That's ok, because the people that will stay will share things in common with you. And that will be amazing. Think about how hard it is to find that in real life - people you have important values and similar experiences in common with - and then realize that you can attract thousands online who "get" you. Life.Changing.
